Executive Coaching for New Leaders

Moving from employee to manager or manager to leadership can be challenging even for the best of us. According to Dr. Woody's on FoxBusiness.com, "Whether right or wrong, most corporate career paths lead to a role in management. However, being prepared for that step up in responsibility can be tough; the move from player to coach is not a natural transition for most people. In fact, it can be slightly traumatizing, particularly when one is elevated to having responsibility over their longtime peers."

When a new manager is promoted from inside the organization the dynamics of going from peer to boss and leader can be difficult to navigate. Learning how to do this well while developing one’s management and leadership style can be a day-to-day adventure.

This is where executive coaching comes in. CI International's executive coaching service can assist a new manager in developing his or her leadership skills and in navigating those rough early waters. An executive coach's job is not to build leaders from the ground up, but to enhance and develop their skills; to help them leverage their strengths and close any gaps that are getting in their way. Many organizations have discovered that providing executive coaches not only improves their boss-to-employee relations, but also improves customer service and profitability. The success of an organization rests in the hands of the leadership staff. Without efficient communication and organizational skills the leaders of an organization will not be able to successfully guide employees.
