CI International helps DHS, Treasury and USDA Administrative Professionals Lead From Where They Sit.
Washington, DC December 2009: Gone are the days of flowers or lunch out to acknowledge the contributions of the administrative professionals we count on every day. CI International's program invests in administrative professionals to build skills they need to ensure those they support are successful.
Relying on proficiency in technical skills is no longer enough for administrative professionals to succeed. If administrative professionals want to “lead from where they sit” today’s work environment demands mastery of interpersonal skills and competencies. CI International’s program “Lead From Where You Sit – Leadership Development for 21st Century Administrative Professionals” was designed to provide a meaningful professional development opportunity for a group that is often overlooked. Recently, CI International conducted this program for a group of DHS and Treasury administrative professionals covering a variety of topics that included techniques and strategies to: find ways to lead and how to leverage leadership regardless of title, understand different personalities traits and how these individual traits impact a work environment, power and politics – how to navigate and influence political situations and environments, how to be courageous at work, interpersonal communication, teamwork, and managing conflict.
CI International Director of Training and Development, John McCann commented that “we often think of leadership development as something reserved for those that have a corresponding title whereas this workshop is based on the premise that every employee has opportunities to lead. Leadership at its core is about getting results and Lead From Where You Sit provides the tools and techniques for administrative professionals to achieve results in a work environment that requires far more than administrative tasks.”
