Comprehensive Leadership Development Programs

In addition to the workshop series, CI offers comprehensive, customized leadership programs incorporating a variety of services and training options tailored to meet your specific leadership development needs.

The following are programs we’ve developed and executed for clients in the past.

National Leadership Development Program USDA, NRCS

A comprehensive, 15-month program for competitively selected GS 12-14s consisting of four residential sessions, Action Learning Projects, a 3-month detail and coaching. CI instructs and mentors GS14s to SES NRCS employees who serve as the internal coaches to their “clients” throughout the program.

Senior Leader Program, USDA Forest Service

A comprehensive, 12-month program for competitively selected GS 13s-14s that includes four residential sessions, Action Learning Projects and coaching. CI instructs and mentors GS15 and SES coaches who serve as internal coaches to their “clients” throughout the year-long program. (Action Learning Projects)

Advanced Leadership Development Program (ALDP), GSA

A comprehensive, 12-month program for competitively selected GS 13-15s. The program includes five, residential training weeks, developmental assignments, action learning teams, shadowing assignments and coaching.

Middle Leader Program, USDA Forest Service

A 6-month program for competitively selected GS 11-12s including assessments, 3 residential training weeks, participant-selected details and coaching. In addition to conducting the residential sessions, CI instructs and mentors GS13-15s who serve as the internal coaches to their “clients” throughout the year-long program.

"The CI instructors are excellent! There was a great balance between presentation, large and small group discussion and meaningful activities. The exercises really helped me gain a better understanding of the material we were covering and how to apply it to real-life situations. The session had a great ‘flow’ and a solid mix of instruction and participant interaction. The resources and materials were outstanding and provided great information. Formal Leader Mentoring Program, (PBS R-4), GSA or USAF, Randolph AFB.

A 12-month formal mentoring program whose purpose was to provide an effective support system to attract, retain and promote a skilled professional staff to lead the organization into the future. CI provided program structure while equipping mentors with skills they needed to be successful. CI managed all aspects of the year-long program allowing clients to remain neutral and participate as mentors or protégés.

Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program (SES CDP), USDA

A comprehensive, OPM-approved 18-month program for competitively selected GS 14-15s.

Leader as New Supervisor, GSA

A highly-interactive program designed to help individuals make the transition from a non-supervisory to supervisory role. It includes a one-week residential session; an interim period in which participants continue the learning through GSA Online University courses and access to senior executives for coaching; and a 3-day, residential session to receive 360 degree feedback and close out the learning.

Grooming and Growing, GSA

A series of five training workshops for GS 12-14s.

Leading Edge, GSA

A catalog of five training workshops, executive coaching and a 360 assessment available “menu-style” by individual GS 12-14s.
